Professor Dena Freeman is Distinguished Professor of Global Studies at Shanghai University and the Deputy Director of the Centre for the History of Global Development. Prior to this she has taught at the London School of Economics, University College London and Cambridge University. Her work focusses on globalization, development and inequality. She has carried out ethnographic fieldwork in a wide variety of settings including in a village in rural Ethiopia, inside an international relief and development NGO, and at the United Nations. Her current research interest explores past and present counter-hegemonic conceptualisations of globalisation. She is the author or editor of five books, most recently Can Globalization Succeed? (Thames & Hudson, 2020), and dozens of scholarly articles in leading journals such as Global Society, Global Policy, and Development in Practice.
教授,上海大学全球研究特聘教授,全球发展史研究中心副主任。曾任教于英国伦敦政治经济学院、伦敦大学和剑桥大学。研究领域为全球化、发展和不平等。在很多不同的环境中包括在埃塞俄比亚的一个村庄、一个国际救济和发展非政府组织内部,以及在联合国开展过民族志田野调查。目前的研究兴趣是探索过去和现在的全球化反霸权概念。出版五部著作或编著,最近一部是Can Globalization Succeed?(Thames & Hudson, 2020年),并在Global Society、Global Policy和Development in Practice等期刊上发表数十篇文章。
