Dena Freeman is Distinguished Professor of Global Studies at Shanghai University. Prior to this she has taught at the London School of Economics and Political Science, University College London and Cambridge University. Originally trained as an anthropologist (with fieldwork in rural Ethiopia), she now uses transdisciplinary approaches, drawing also from critical political-economy, global history and international relations, to explore past and present questions of internationalism, development, systemic transformation, planetary politics and world order. She is the author or editor of seven books, most recently The Global Left in a Multipolar World: Towards a Planetary Politics of Justice and Survival (Routledge, 2026).
Dena Freeman 是上海大学全球研究杰出教授。此前，曾在伦敦政治经济学院、伦敦大学学院和剑桥大学任教。她最初接受人类学专业训练，并曾在埃塞俄比亚农村开展田野调查。如今，采用跨学科研究方法，综合运用批判政治经济学、全球史和国际关系等学科的理论与视角，探讨国际主义、发展、体系转型、全球政治与世界秩序等议题的历史演变及其当代意义。著有或主编七部著作，最新著作为《多极化世界中的全球左翼：迈向正义与生存的星球政治》（The Global Left in a Multipolar World: Towards a Planetary Politics of Justice and Survival，Routledge，2026）。
